Ramblin' Nights with Cat Canteri & Ben Mastwyk

RAMBLIN’ NIGHTS is back at SLYFOX for it's second instalment, showcasing the best Alt-country, Blues, Americana, Soul and Rock and this month we get to experience Cat Canteri, Ben Mastwyk and Justin Bernasconi.
Hailing from the grit and grime of Melbourne’s inner city, renowned songwriter Cat Canteri will be hitting The Heritage with her stellar band; ‘The Hipster Proof Fence’ featuring Justin Bernasconi on guitar (The Stillsons), Isaac Barter on bass (Sal Kimber & The Rolling Wheel) and Justin Olsson on drums (Oh Pep! Lanks).

They’ll be launching their new album ‘Inner North’, which sees Cat’s bold and reckless slide guitar style intermeshed with her poignant and poetic lyrics, reflecting the struggles and stories of her community, known as the Inner North of Melbourne.

Also hailing from Melbourne, singer/songwriter Ben Mastwyk is proudly steeped in country music tradition. A nomination for Best Country Album (The Age Music Victoria Awards) for his 1st album ‘Mornin Evenin, scored him an invite to perform in Nashville for 2016 Americana Awards with rave reviews.

Mastwyk will have his new album in tow (released June), which will bring a new chapter of songs erupting into swaggering, psychedelic bar room gems.

Opening the night is Justin Bernasconi with his styles and sounds from the Delta blues, Appalachian Bluegrass, English Folk tunes and all stops in between.

Kiltr Sessions 1st Birthday Presents: Anthony Pappa

What a year we have had!!! It’s been incredible to watch our party grow and gain respect on the Sydney circuit. Our passion is as strong as it was on day one (if not stronger) so long may our growth continue!!!!

We can’t thank the people who have supported us over the past 12 months enough!! From Dave Stuart and Andres Saldias at The Bunker who gave us our first step onto the scene then to Jimmy BrûsBrus who first entertained the idea of having us at the SLYFOX and to Kerry Wallace for approving! To Damion Pell and Decoded Magazine for the continuous support. Russell Reid of Wasted Heroes for the sunning and unique artwork that blows us away every month! And above all to all our friends that have come down and joined us for a boogie!!

We’ve had some pretty epic parties over the last few months with DJ’s consistently bringing something special, unique and passionate to our party! All Day I Dream legends YokoO and Retza, both gave us pretty memorable nights Emerson Todd agreed to dust off his record bag and come down and join us for his first gig in three years…and delivered one of the most technically gifted sets we’ve seen (check out our podcast for a recording of the set if you haven’t done so already). Then there have been our collaborations with our good friends at Forbidden TØNË and Motif!! Bringing Eelke Kleijn and a Sydney exclusive show of the mighty Tim Green. Both parties went off and we can’t wait to throw some more parties with team!!!

Soooo, hopefully well see some (a lot) of you at our 1st party next moth at (where else) Slyfox!! On the 20th of July, we’ll be inviting a true legend, Progressive House maestro and innovator from Global Underground fame, Anthony Pappa, to join us!! We have been negotiating a date with Pappa for a while now and it has perfectly worked out that he’ll be on board to help us celebrate our birthday and deliver, what is sure to be an epic and unmissable set!!

Peace, love and Techno :-))))
