Deep House Yoga Project - Monday's with a Twist

Deep House Yoga Project is setting up shop every Monday night for a summer sessions series at SLYFOX in Enmore.

A delicious combination of deep breaths, deep bends and deep beats - Yogi Saoirse Connolly and DJ Jen Stallard - co-create the space for your souls to shine through a sensory journey of juicy Vinyasa flow.

All to a live, spine-tingling DJ set of melodic deep house beats - connecting you to breath and movement while getting lost in the magic of the music.

Kiltr Sessions Presents: Marcotix [Subsonic] & Kali [Picnic]

MARCOTIX (Subsonic)
KALI (Picnic)

MARCOTIX (Subsonic)

Creative musical mastermind. Subsonic Music director. Event producer extraordinaire. Marcotix spreads his well-travelled wisdom through his extensive techno collection & selection of global sounds.

It’s the early 90’s in the Tokyan jungle. Marco first gets infected by a vinyl at the age of 16; he has been ridden with a musical disease ever since.
Jumping continents, and from 17 until his mid 20’s, he co-ran a record store ‘House of Trance’ in New York City, then at 20 ran their monthly parties in the Lower East Side End. The sickness eventually drove him to Sydney, Australia, where he co-founded Deep As Funk - a weekly nightclub with weird, wonky, and wonderful underground techno, house & electronica - and also forced the spread of his infection, which then mutated into the festival bug. This lead to the creation of Earthdance, which morphed from a bush festival of 500 into an inner-city multi-faceted community spectacular of 20,000 dancers in just 4 years.
Marcotix is known for expertly crafting musical forcefields that put anyone who enters them under his influence. Spreading his well-travelled wisdom through his extensive techno collection and vast selection of global sounds. It’s a given that Marcotix will take whichever dance-floor he captains for one heck of a ride. His story is not bad also....

Marcotix’ current project, Subsonic Music, is in collaboration with another carrier of the sickness: the DJ known as MSG. Together, they craft a celebration for contaminees of the virus. Subsonic Music Festival, now in its 9th year, has become world-renowned for it’s production, forward-thinking attitude, and diversity of genres. Hand-made, homegrown, educational and enlightening, the brand also includes a monthly Sydney techno party: SubClub, and a record label.
But let’s get back to the basics. Marcos’ sound has been forged and refined by many years of travelling, organizing, and performing (all the while searching for a cure to progress his illness into a category 4 virus) in global hubs such as Germany, Belgium, Poland, France, and Japan, as well as the more exotic Thailand, New Caledonia, Fiji, New Zealand, Brazil, and of course Australia, where he can be still spotted in Bondi eating a deep fried mars bar when the moon is full.

Asides from his own brainchild Subsonic Music Festival, he specialises in making people dance outdoors, including past Rainbow Serpents & EarthFrequency (Australia), Fusion Festivals – Bachstelzen Stage (Germany), Universo Parallelo (Brazil) Plo?tzlich am Meer (Poland), End Of The Line & Shipwrecked (NZ),
and is set to play during one of the wonders of the world - and the cosmos - Oregon Eclipse Festival (USA).

He can’t resist to play a track or two when he’s close to clubs either, and enjoys sticking his head into Berlin’s Katerblau, Salon zur Wilden Renate, Sysiphos, Chalet Club, GoldenGate, & formerly (RIP) Katerholzig.

Of course it goes without saying, that with having such an extensive repertoire, Marco has graced the decks with some of the world’s finest purveyors of music. Because let’s face it - if you are with 20 years experience in all facets of minimal, house & techno, you would have to become somewhat of a master. And that’s exactly what Marcotix is.

KALI (Picnic)

Kali is Sydney club life’s saving grace. A seasoned DJ having spent decades in the booth, her unrelenting energy, and elevated taste has masterminded local institution Picnic.

Approaching its 10th year, Picnic has established itself as a name that pleasure seekers and dance music enthusiasts can trust. The versatile empire exists as an event series, touring company, venue booker, music curator and the Kali-hosted FBi FM radio show.

Presenting world-class acts DJ Harvey, Young Marco, Soichi Terada, DJ Sprinkles and Underground Resistance to the most appreciative audiences, Picnic always places an emphasis on the local scene, building a party from the ground up. Kali’s unwavering loyalty to Australian artists is best highlighted by the One Night Stand series. These carefully considered nights find a local selector guide the dancefloor from open to close, with Andrew Weatherall being the only international (at the penultimate Sydney Opera House), alongside unforgettable 8 hour marathons from Tornado Wallace, HMC, Ben Fester, Simon Caldwell and herself.

While Picnic is ultimately about booking the right DJ for the right party, Kali’s self-guided sense of responsibility has also birthed another series - HER. A platform for awe-inspiring established and emerging female artists to do their thing, HER alumni includes Lena Willikens, Jayda G, Octo Octa and a string of likeminded supports.

Playing quality techno, house and disco at Sydney Festival, Subsonic, Vivid Sydney, Astral People’s Summer Dance and Mad Racket, Kali’s music endeavours aren’t limited to after dark. Her curatorial finesse has been sought after by the likes of Icebergs, Da Orazio, The Dolphin Hotel and Harpoon Harry, of which she oversees both as Music Director. Of course you can always stream her two Boiler Room sets at any time of day.

Foxlife / Marco Loco

Marco Loco takes The SLYFOX by storm April 21st, with friends of the fox Jimmy Brus, Carlo Gambino and Sari Amia holding it down on support.

Marco Loco

Glasgow-born, Ibiza-influenced Marco Loco has been involved in the dance industry for over a decade. Over the last 8 years, he has solidified himself as a true Ibiza resident. Playing over 100 gigs every summer in a variety of the island's hotspots. Foxlife / Brawther

Just because it’s the end of the month, doesn’t mean we are slowing things down in the house music department. The SLYFOX has seen some stellar names in April, and we thought it would be wise (and fun) to finish with another Frenchman. Brawther heads off the 28th April, with Fox resident Rabbit Taxi making the trip up to visit us, alongside Charles muziek and Fin McAvoy.

Born in Paris, now living in Leeds and raised on house – that’s just about all Brawther wants to tell you. You’ll have to glean anything else you need to know from his music. So far his productions have only been selectively released on esteemed labels like Cabinet, Balance, secretsundaze and My Love Is Underground. It varies from pad-laced daydreams to tough edged 4/4 beats, always displaying such true school ideals. Brawther is also the man behind record label and production partnership Dungeon Meat, a like-minded collaboration with Tristan da Cunha. Very much prising quality over quantity, Brawther knows just when to release his records into the wider world. When he does, it seems the world takes note.
